Born prematurely at 28 weeks, I spent the first three months of my life in the NICU. After leaving the NICU, one thing persisted: I was consistently a few steps behind in the skills that my peers had mastered. This led to numerous skinned knees, broken wrists, and more than a few lacrosse balls to the face. However, these challenges endowed me with resilience and the opportunity to consciously improve every day.
Over time, with family support and a dedicated focus on nurturing every aspect of my well-being, I overcame being two steps behind. I now find fulfillment in coaching others on how to achieve this in their lives!
I was raised in Vermont and Massachusetts, where I spent my time playing in the woods and exploring the coastlines. As high school graduation approached, I realized I needed a break from the snow. I proudly chose to attend the University of Tampa, situated on Florida's sunny west coast.
My freshman year was not a smooth transition into college life. I was dealing with feelings of homesickness, anxiety, and struggled with finding a sense of belonging. I dove headfirst into finding academic success. I discovered that academic organization and personal development skills came naturally to me, and I enjoyed sharing my methods with others. My involvement in the First-Year Mentor program was a turning point, where I had the fortune of working with an incredible teacher for the entirety of my next three years. Throughout this period, I focused in on the systems that effectively supported students' academic, social, and emotional needs.
My college experience was not limited to in-person interactions; it also continued through the COVID-19 shutdown. Observing the drastic changes in human interaction and relationships in such a short period inspired me to immerse myself deeply in communication, connection, and community. These three pillars have profoundly influenced my worldview and the way I engage with everyone, from close friends to complete strangers.
Upon graduating from college, I was both thrilled and anxious to embark on a new chapter in my life. Reflecting on my time at UT, I often found myself reminiscing about being a First-Year Mentor. It was the most impactful experience of my college years; it also led me to assist friends with job applications, communication skills, graduate school organization, and health and wellness overhauls. That's when I realized that Thrive wasn't just a distant dream, but a reality deeply ingrained in my daily life.
I work with clients not only in Tampa Bay but across the United States. I have a passion for supporting college students as they develop both academic and life skills. My scope extends beyond college aged clients. I assist individuals of all ages and walks of life seeking support in adopting a holistic lifestyle, finding accountability, improving communication/ boundaries, and managing anxiety.
In my free time I enjoy attending Lightning hockey games, acro yoga, paddleboarding, and all things health and wellness. I am currently in the process of getting my 500-hour Pilates teacher training and enjoy attending continuing education workshops.
Are you a parent or guardian feeling overwhelmed by your child's transition to college? Perhaps they're struggling to adjust or succeed, and you're unsure how much to step in without feeling overbearing or like you're 'nagging.' I can help. As a cheerleader, accountability partner, mentor, and sounding board, I provide the guidance and support your child needs on this journey.
Some of the support I offer to local students includes walking them to club meetings, helping them navigate and get comfortable with Tampa Bay, and providing in-person assistance with any campus-related issues that arise.
Not local? No problem! I offer coaching via Zoom or phone calls. My approach is all about partnering with my clients to dream, take action, and achieve their goals in ways that work best for them!
